Has West Ham ever been in Kent. If so then those from the south of the river may have a stab at no more than equality.
Far better they accept they're more akin to the people of Norfolk, albeit with a preference for hops over sugar beet.

I lived South East a few years ago for a bit and was impressed. Seened a bit mire chilled and green over that way and lots of nice big old houses. Just a pain getting anywhere.

The East End is the best part of London imho. Essex has some lovely parts and is full of ex East Enders and borders the East End so because of that ESSEX wins.

Some parts of Kent are absolutely cracking, other areas are shitholes. Much like any other county really. I live in BERKS now and it's the same there. Beautiful little villages and stunning countryside one minute, and then you've got the abomination that is Reading.
It only ever seems to be people from Essex who want to constantly compare Kent and Essex. People from Kent don't seem to have the same obsession.

I think it depends on what part of Essex...
From a nipper until I was 12 we lived in Loose near Maidstone which was a lovely place, "Garden of England" and all that.
At the time my Grandparents lived in Chadwell Heath and my uncle and auntie plus cousins were on Canvey.
Kent clearly beat those places hands down.
My brother has recently moved to Buckhurst Hill which seems really nice although maybe a bit up its own arse so I guess it depends if your on about "Posh" Essex or your more normal run of the mill places.
